We are off to a great start to the summer. Anna has officially graduated Kindergarten! It is so hard to believe that we have a first grader! She is excited to stay at AOL through the summer for camp, but then it is off to big school on a bus! Chris and I also got away on a trip to Mexico, Anna and Nick stayed home with grandma and grandpa.
- May
May was a busy month as we approached the end of the school year for Anna. She finished up Daisy's and officially became a Brownie. She will stay in the same troop next year. We celebrated a great Mother's Day and I found myself addicted to my gift, Mario Cart for the Wii! Jason came to town for Erika's graduation and we had fun at a party at Grandma and Grandpa's house. We hosted a little BBQ with the Schaar's and Tyler's followed by fresh summer haircuts for the kids. I was sad to see Nick's hair fall to the ground, but I love it now. Also this month was the HUGE debut of Anna starring in The Little Red Hen. She was so great and made mom and dad so proud with her courage to sing in front of the crowd.

- April - Another Girl's Trip - Kansas City
Melissa went on another gir;l's trip in April to Kansas City to celebrate Heather McLaughlin (now Kaufmann)'s wedding.

- February - Nick is Walking!
16 Months Old. Nicholas has been working on his walking for a couple of weeks now, but this week he has really taken off on his own. He is building his confidence more and more each day and I am sure will be running before we know it!
- February - Girl's Trip to San Francisco
In celebration of Heather's upcoming wedding, we planned a fabulous weekend in San Francisco. Nine friends, great wine, amazing restaurants, the W Hotel, Bliss Spa, shopping...more food and wine, and a near miss to the emergency room...what more could we ask for!?

This month we had our first snow day of the year. Luckily we had a borrowed snowsuit ready to go for Nick and great sled that he could ride in. Finally I gave in and we took Nick to get his first haircut. He has needed it, but I did not want to cut off the baby curls. He hardly looks like a baby anymore, but I like the haircut. Now...if only we can get him to walk. He is taking a couple steps at a time, but not interested in going on his own yet.

We celebrated Liz's birthday by going on a Virginia wine tour. Christian arranged for a great day complete with limo, a special wine tasting event at Breaux Vineyards, a visit to another vineyard, followed by dinner at Tuskies. It was a lot of fun. Anna and Kaley got to take a little ride in the limo when we got home. They thought that was pretty great.
Thanksgiving was a nice warm day and the kids got to play outside before dinner. As usual, it was a great dinner at grandma and grandpa's house. The kids passed out on the way home!
Nick LOVES the water. He is so happy when he is in the bath. Maybe I should be giving him more baths?! He is also starting to get more curious about things and learning how to make a good mess. He spent about 30 minutes in the pantry happy as can be, playing with a fly swatter, potatoes and fruit snacks. Who knew they could be such great toys!
- October
How quickly a year goes by! Seems like yesterday we were at the pumpkin patch with just Anna, getting ready to have Nick join the family, and now he is ONE! We had a very fun month doing our annual trip to the pumpkin patch, visiting Cox Farms, soccer games, and celebrating Nick and Caitlin's birthdays as well as Jasons safe return home from Iraq.
- September
September brought two big firsts our way....Anna started Kindergarten at AOL and Nick took his first trip to Nags Head. We had a great trip to the beach with all the family, including Nana. Anna started Soccer again this season and has really enjoyed it and loves scoring those goals. Nick really took off crawling much faster and has improved his "Big Boy Crawl". Nags Head was a great trip. Great weather, fun in the sun, pool and sand, good food and drink and excellent company. Nick really enjoyed his first beach trip. Anna transitioned easily into Kindergarten, as it really was not much different since she is still at AOL. Next year will be her big transition. As with every fall, we also scoped out local festivals and fairs, visiting the Ashburn Village festival and the Tarara Wine festival.
- August
In August Melissa and the kids took a visit to see Debbie at Lake Anna. It was great to catch up and get out on the lake for a day. Nick got fitted for her second helmet and started up another 12 week round of fixing up the head. He will look great when its done! Anna and Chris got some fishing in during an afternoon visit to Franklin park. Nicks Army crawl is in full motion!
- July
Look who is 5 this month!! Anna had a great time celebrating her bitthday this month. We had another "small and easy" party at the house this year. Ha! The theme was a Puppy Party and we even had a trick dog come for a visit. We did the family birthday celebration at her favorite restaurant, Red Robin of course. Over the 4th of July we took a trip with Kevin and Marnie to the Schaar's house in NC. We had a great week and spent some time at the beach and Nick took his first boat ride. Anna had a great time vacationing with Lydia and Charlie. Anna was very excited this month to take her first trip on the metro to DC. We went to the Natural History museam. Other outings included a visit to the Loudoun Co. Fair and a picnic at a winery.

Merry Christmas! We had a great holiday season with Anna and Nick. Anna fully appreciates all that christmas has to offer (PRESENTS!) and Nick was a fun new addition to the festivities....especially tree shopping.... :)
- NOVEMBER
Welcome home baby Nicholas!! Nick was born on October 29th and we came home on Nov. 2. Anna just loves her new baby brother.
- OCTOBER - BABY NICK
Welcome to the world Nicholas Robert Frescholtz! Nick was born Oct. 29th and weighed in at 6lb. 12 oz.
- OCTOBER
October is always such a great month! Visits to the farm, our annual pumpkin patch visit, carving pumpkins and halloween (candy!!) all make for a great month. This year I looked like I had a pumpkin in my belly and I was moving a bit slower, but we still enjoyed our favorite activities. Except...Nick came a bit early (was supposed to be Nov. 1) and I missed the big AOL parade and halloween night. Nick was worth it and Princess Belle came for a visit to see him halloween night.
- SEPTEMBER
Just waiting and waiting for the big day....Anna finished out her soccer season, enjoyed warm September days in her "hot tub" and visited with great grandma Frescholtz and Aunt Bev. Liz and I practically squish Grandma with our bellies!
- AUGUST
Anna got her first set of clubs for her birthday and Dad took her out on the course to hit balls. The cart however may have been the most exciting part. A highlight of the month was a visit to the extremely famous and realistic DINOSAUR MUSEUM in Front Royal. While a 60+ minute drive to see this EXCELLENT museum for a whopping 30 minutes may not have been worth it, the finding of the Warren County 4H fair down the road was worth every minute and penny spent. Tractor pulls, rides, cotton candy, fried food and YES, I played Bingo made for a fun evening.
- JULY
July is always a fun month for Anna. She celebrated her 4th birthday this year and we had a party at Little Gym to celebrate. While we did not get to go on any vacations this summer, we did find plenty of fun things to do....fishing (anna caught one!), the 4th of July neighborhood picnic, a daytrip to Burke Lake (Dad's old stomping grounds). We also had great visits with Jason before he left for Iraq and Nana and Great Grandpa visited for a week.

Nothing to do on New Years Eve? Come on over! The pyramid was pretty big this year...scary. How old are we?!
- December
Merry Christmas! Holiday shows, tree shopping, cooking decorating, visits from santa and presents make for a great holiday season!
- December | Hawaii
We were so fortunate to get the opportunity to visit Oahu Hawaii with the entire family. Mom/Dad F, Mom H, Liz/Christian all joined us on this trip to visit Jason. However, Jason was called to duty a month before and was not even there to visit! Regardless, it was an amazing vacation in paradise.

This month we planned a trip to Florida to visit Nana and celebrate her 60th birthday, as well as an early Florida christmas. Unfortunately our trip did not get off to a good start. Anna had what seemed to be a pretty bad cold on our way to Florida, but it continued to get worse. We waited until the following morning to get her checked out at a local urgent care center. To our surprise she was much worse than we thought and needed to go to the hospital. She was diagnosed with RSV and Bronchilitis and Pneumonia. We proceeded to spend the next 5 days in the St. Pete Children's hospital. It was not fun to say the least. Luckily we extended our vacation and we got to spend some time with the family and celebrated an early christmas.
Back at home, we continued our family tradition of visiting the Japanese steak house for Christmas Eve dinner. Anna had a good time, despite the fire scaring her a bit. Christmas Day was very fun. Santa brought Baby Abby and a stroller....thats all she really needed, she loved them. But of course Santa continued to spoil her both at home and at Grandma's house.
- November
Anna is 16 months this month. (As I type this...Nick is 16 months as well...and I love to compare how they look at this age...SO much alike!). Grandma and Grandpa hosted Thanksgiving this year from their new house in Chantilly and got to spend some time with uncle Jason and Aunt Erika (I think they were living in Alabama at the time?). I love her hat and coat!
My favorite pictures of the bunch are of Anna sleeping with Dad. This happened every night. She would take over the bed and push Chris right off the edge. I love seeing "Colorful" in the picture as well. As of today, 5 year old Anna cannot live without "Colorful" blankie.
- October
We went on a road trip in October to North Carolina to celebrate Debbie's wedding. I planned for us to travel up through Blacksburg and to spend a night at Moutain Lake. It was so fun to go and spend some time at VT and to stay at the rustic hotel on top of the mountain. It was exactly as I had remembered it, from visit from college days. Chris was not so thrilled with the room, as there are no TV's at this hotel. With Anna asleep in the room and no tv, it was an early night. We had a nice dinner out with Anna sleeping by our side and then woke to have a good brunch. We then took a hike to the top of the mountain and got some great pictures with an amazing view.
Anna was still not walking on Halloween, so our little ladybug got to go on a halloween ride in the wagon. She loved getting candy in her bucket, but luckily did not quite understand that candy is good to eat!
- September
Nana came for visit in September. Despite the pictures here, I am sure she had a very nice visit with Nana :) Anna is in her dress for class pictures at AOL. Not walking, but great on the steps!
- August
Anna took her first trip to Buffalo and Niagra in August. We had a nice visit with great grandma and aunt bev. They loved having her visit. Anna is a great traveller and handled the 8 hour drive great. We did the whole siteseeing at Niagra and this is where she had her first taste of her favorite ice cream - mint chocolate chip. She got to celebrate her birthday again as well and we had fun doing a driveway picnic complete with Buffalo wings from Duffs. YUM.
- July | Birthday
It's my birthday party! We celebrated Anna's birthday with a pool party for all her (my) friends. It was so much fun to have a baby right when all my friends had babies. We had Catherine (Jen's), Charlie (Marnie's), Jay(Nicole's), Sean (Amy), Elizabeth (Rebecca), Jake (Gretchen), Cailey (Kim's) and neighbor Emma join in for the party! Oh...and it was HOT! Very Hot. Fun was had by all!
- July
Look who's One! My how fast a year goes by. We did lot's of birthday celebrating with the family and at her birthday party pool party...which we got the great idea from Emma's party next door.
